All-Star for the first time in his career, a rare event for an undrafted player, Fred VanVleet is going to have a rather busy weekend in Cleveland as The Athletic announces his participation in the 3-point contest.
With 179 behind the line at 7m25 since the start of the season, he is the third most prolific player at this distance, behind Stephen Curry (229) and Buddy Hield (182), but he has a better percentage than them ( 39.3%) since the leader of Golden State runs at 38.1% and the back of Sacramento at 36.8%.
He’s the first known participant in the 3-point contest, although Trae Young had stated his intentions to take part as well if selected for the All-Star Game.
