One month before the All-Star Game, coaches and stars are coming out of silence to promote players or teammates. Like for example in Chicago where Billy Donovan believes that Zach LaVine And Nikola Vucevic deserve to be selected. For one, as for the other, it is unlikely but the Chicago coach gives his arguments.
“We get to see them every night, and for me, there is no doubt in my mind, based on what they produce, that they are playing at an All-Star level.”, Donovan said Wednesday. “The two together are. I think the statistics bear that out.”
Absent from the Top 10 of the first votes, Vucevic averages 20.5 points and 10.2 rebounds with a nice 42% at 3-points for an interior. In the East, in the figures, few display this level. But the Montenegrin still has competition with Karl-Anthony Towns, the Allen-Mobley pair, or even Joel Embiid if the voters send him directly to the All-Star Game.
As for LaVine, he only appears 14th in voting among the guards. However, none of the thirteen players in front of him posted better percentages with 50.9% on shots and 44.7% on 3-pointers. “There’s what Zach does on 3-pointers, what he did on the court, and he took on a lot of defensive challenges”Donovan continues. “I think Vooch, historically, if you look at his numbers, he's probably at his highest career percentage, and he's already been an All-Star. There is no doubt that these two players should be considered for the All-Star Game. »
