A week after the starters, the NBA revealed the names of the 14 replacements for the All-Star Game 2024who will represent the East of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the West of LeBron James on February 18, in Indianapolis.
To the Eastwe obviously find Donovan Mitchell (5th selection) and Jalen Brunson (1st selection), two “forgotten” from the starting five. They are accompanied by Jaylen Brown (3rd selection), Bam Adebayo (3rd selection), Paolo Banchero (1st selection), Julius Randle (3rd selection) and Tyrese Maxey (1st selection).
Westthe inevitable Stephen Curry (10th selection) and Anthony Davis (9th selection) will be there, as well as Kawhi Leonard (6th selection), Anthony Edwards (2nd selection), Paul George (9th selection), Devin Booker (4th selection) and Karl-Anthony Towns (4th selection).
Two drafted in the East?
Among the information to remember, there are especially the first stars of Jalen Brunson, Tyrese Maxey and Paolo Banchero. As well as the returns to the event of Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis after three years of absence.
In terms of absences, we can mention the names of Domantas Sabonis, De'Aaron Fox, Kyrie Irving, Alperen Sengun, Lauri Markkanen or Rudy Gobert in the West, as well as those of Trae Young, Jimmy Butler, DeMar DeRozan, Kristaps Porzingis or Jarrett Allen in the East. The good news for the “forgotten” East is that Julius Randle should be replaced soon, just like Joel Embiid.
Another point to note: the Bucks, Celtics, Clippers, Knicks, Lakers, Sixers, Suns and Wolves are all sending representatives to the All-Star game. No team sends three.
