From December 20, 2022 to January 21, 2023, fans will have the opportunity to select the players they want to see compete in the 72nd edition of the All Star Gamescheduled for February 19 in Salt Lake City.
Throughout these four weeks, it will be possible to submit a complete ballot daily, via NBA app and NBA.com. It will also be possible to vote for a maximum of 10 unique players per day, on Twitter. Anyone currently on the NBA roster will be eligible for selection.
Five “3-for-1 days” (and no longer “2-for-1 days”) will allow fans to submit a triple count vote: December 25, January 1, January 6, January 13, 16 January and finally on January 20.
It will then be the choices of the players and journalists who will be mixed with those of the fans, to designate the five holders of this All-Star Game 2023 (two in the backcourt and three in the frontcourt). Fans will still represent 50% of the votes, while players and the media panel will represent 25% each.
Fan vote progress reports will be released by the NBA on January 5, 12 and 19. Then TNT will announce the holders of this all-star game, including the two captains (the two who will have collected the most votes in each conference), on January 26. Before revealing the identity of the replacements, selected by the coaches, on February 2.
Finally, the compositions of the two teams will be established by these two captains, who will choose among the holders and substitutes of each conference, without taking into account the affiliation to the West or the East. The details of this All-Star Draft will be revealed later.
