All of Jamal Murray’s assists since the start of the Finals

“That’s one of the best stats of the night, Jamal Murray had 12 assists and didn’t drop a ball. In a match where he was “blitzed” and where he took on a bunch of different players all night, he didn’t lose a ball, and that’s just remarkable”.

Mike Malone did not fail to underline the contribution of his leader after Game 4 won in Miami on an evening when the spotlight was turned on Aaron Gordon and Bruce Brown (27 and 23 points).

Jamal Murray indeed became the third player in history to compile 12 or more assists without dropping a single ball in a Finals game, after Robert Reid in 1986 (17) and Magic Johnson in 1987 (13). However, he is the only player to have signed 10 or more assists in his first four career Finals games.

“He didn’t say to himself, ‘I’m going to save us and put the team on my shoulders.’ He just read the defense, did the right thing and trusted his teammates. It’s a big part of our identity, this trust in each other., added coach Malone. “ Jamal’s confidence in his teammates was at a high level in this game. I’m really proud of his performance.”

While waiting for Game 5, the clip of all of his 42 assists against Miami can be found below.
