If Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore bought the Wolves and the Lynx (WNBA), the sale is done gradually.
Because he did not want to let go of the two franchises at once, former owner Glen Taylor decided to stagger the sale, selling the two Minnesota clubs in three installments.
The former MLB star and his partner, who made his fortune in online sales, have just activated their option to buy back an additional 20%, having already secured 20% of Wolves and Lynx. They now have until March 15 to finalize the purchase of this second tranche, and thus end up with 40% of the capital.
However, they will still have to wait to take full possession of the clubs, since they will still have to activate the purchase of the last 40% remaining (for 80% in total). They have until December 31, 2023 to do so. This staggered payment is also a way for Glen Taylor to allow Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore to raise the necessary sums, the two men recruiting other investors to find the 1.5 billion claimed.
In fact, the two men are however already fully invested, since they actively participated in the recruitment of Tim Connelly at the head of sports management, also validating the “trade” of Rudy Gobert.
