After being cleared by the courts, Terrence Shannon Jr. can think about the Draft

LeBron James went there with his message on X/Twitter. It must be said that the news is important for Terrence Shannon Jr.exonerated in a criminal trial after rape accusations.

The full-back/winger (1m98, 99 kg) from Illinois was arrested last December, when a young woman accused him of having attacked her in September, in a bar in Lawrence, Kansas. Accusations that the person concerned has always denied, and which a jury therefore dismissed, after a trial lasting a week.

A big scorer

“We are satisfied with the result”, said Mark Sutterone of the basketball player's lawyers. “Terrence Shannon Jr. finally got his trial. We refuted the allegations in September and at that time we promised that one day soon we would be able to show it in court and that's what happened. We are satisfied with the result. At the end of the day, I think the general public owes Shannon Jr. an apology.”

Suspended by Illinois when the investigation was opened, Terrence Shannon Jr. appealed, and he was able to return to the field after being sidelined for six games.

In the 32 games he played this season, he averaged 23.0 points, with 48% success, including 36% from distance. Capable of big offensive cards, he notably scored 40 points at the end of the season against Nebraska, or even 29 points against Iowa State, before being extinguished by Connecticut (8 points to 2/13) during the Elite Eight .

Announced in the Top 25 of the Draft before his arrest, the 23-year-old player will now be able to carry out trials with franchises interested in his profile.
