From now on, his famous “Woj Bomb” will no longer ring out on our phones to announce the most important news from the NBA. On social networks, Adrian Wojnarowski actually revealed that he was retiring from the media at the age of 55.
The most well-known (and influential) journalist in the NBA media landscape for several years, the always very well-informed “Woj” worked at ESPN since 2017, after joining Yahoo! Sports in 2007. Two years ago, he extended with ESPN for the modest sum of 10 million dollars annually, despite the interest of many companies.
“This job has transformed my life, but I have decided to retire from ESPN and the news industry”writes Wojnarowski. “I am aware of the commitments that my role requires and it is an investment that I am no longer prepared to make. Time is not unlimited and I want to use mine in a more personally rewarding way.”

Thirty-seven years later, he decided to hang up his boots, explaining that he wanted to focus on things that were close to his heart personally.
In reality, “Woj” is now heading towards a career as a basketball executive, as he becomes the new GM Bonnies from New York University's St. Bonaventure, a university from which he graduated in 1991 and which is therefore dear to him.
