Equipment manufacturers regularly bring old models out of their boxes to bring them up to date. After Nike, Reebok and Puma, it's adidas' turn to delve back into the distant past.
Very distant since the brand went back 46 years to find the “Jabbar”, the model intended for Kareem Abdul Jabbar after signing with the three-striped brand in 1978!
A “High” and a “Low” version of the first signature shoe of one of the legends in NBA history will go on sale with the same classic colorway, in navy blue and white. Note the presence of the leather collar and the suede part at the forefoot. Only the color of the midsole, in off-white to accentuate the vintage side, has evolved. The historic adidas logo also appears in gold on the heel.
The two pairs could enter the market this Friday, October 18, at a price of 110 dollars for the Jabbar High and 100 dollars for the Low version.
