A trophy, but a discreet debut for Evan Fournier

This weekend was the Crete International Basketball Tournamentand it was the opportunity to see Evan Fournier in the Olympiakos jersey for the first time. After getting rid of Isaïa Cordinier's Virtus Bologna in the semi-final, the Piraeus club won the final against Fenerbahce.

While the Turks had a lead of up to 12 points, it was a hold-up victory (73-70) thanks to a last-second 3-pointer from Tyler Dorsey. The former Mavericks guard finished the game with 15 points. Same total for Sasha Vezenkov, who added 6 rebounds and 1 steal.

After scoring 5 points in the semi-final, Evan Fournier only scored 2 points in the final, shooting 1 out of 5. The Frenchman added 1 rebound, 3 assists and 4 fouls for a negative rating of -3. The Greek press praised his willingness to integrate and make others play.

On the Fenerbahce side, Nigel Hayes-Davis finished as the game's top scorer with 16 points. Alongside him, Scottie Wilbekin and Bonzie Colson added 12 and 11 points respectively. This tournament also marked Khem Birch's debut on the Turkish side, and the Canadian center accumulated 4 points and 7 rebounds.

The two teams will meet again on October 4 for the first day of the Euroleague regular season. It will be in Turkey.
