Typically, American TV broadcasters, major partners of the IOC, keep the latest slots for themselves, so that as many of their viewers as possible can be in front of their televisions in the United States.
With the time difference for these Olympics in France, a Team USA match that starts at 9:00 p.m. in Paris can be watched at 3:00 p.m. in New York and 12:00 p.m. in Los Angeles. This is why LeBron James and his gang will still play in “prime time” against Serbia, at 9:00 p.m., while the Blues will challenge Germany from 5:30 p.m.
NBC, however, did not use its priority for the American women's team, leaving European broadcasters with the coveted 9:00 p.m. slot for the women's semifinals.
So it's the semi-final France – Belgium which will be broadcast tomorrow in “prime time”, starting at 9:00 p.m. For their part, A'ja Wilson and her teammates will face Australia beforehand, at 5:30 p.m.
