A record sixth participation for Rudy Fernandez at the Olympic Games

The eternal Rudy Fernandez took advantage of the first half against Australia to write his name in the history books of Olympic Games. Entering the game at Paris 2024it is indeed became the first basketball player to play in six Olympic tournaments, after Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021.

At 39, the Spaniard remains a leader of the Red off the bench and is now better than the five Olympics of Teofilo Cruz, Andrew Gaze, Joe Ingles, Patty Mills, Juan Carlos Navarro, Oscar Schmidt and Luis Scola. Note that, in four years in Los Angeles, the Australian duo Ingles/Mills will possibly have the possibility of equaling the record of the one who will bow out at the end of this competition in France.

In the women's category, we recall that Diana Taurasi will also be participating in her sixth Olympic Games and, in Paris, she will simply be aiming for her… sixth gold medal! As for Rudy Fernandez, he is dreaming of his first Olympic title after winning three medals (two silver and one bronze).
