Son of Ron Harper, former Bulls and Lakers player with whom he won five NBA titles (1996, 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2001), Ron Harper Jr. (23 years old, 1m96) is still trying to make his own name in the NBA.
Not drafted in 2022, the winger had been picked up by Toronto, which had offered him a “two-way contract” before the start of the season. If he posted correct stats in the G-League with the Raptors 905 (17.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists in 41 games played), he was more discreet during his stints with the first team then coached by Nick Nurse, with nine small games on the clock for 48 minutes played in the NBA in total.
Adrian Wojnarowski, however, has announced that the Raptors have renewed their confidence in him by offering him a new “two-way contract” for 2023/24. It will be up to him to continue his rise in the G-League in order to hope to benefit from more playing time with the first team, this time led by Darko Rajakovic.
Ron Harper Jr. will be joined by Markquis Nowell, also on a two-way contract with the Raptors.
Forward Ron Harper Jr., has agreed on a new two-way contract to return to the Toronto Raptors, Drew Gross of @rocnationsports like ESPN. Harper Jr., averaged 17 points and five rebounds in his rookie season with the Raptors’ G League affiliate.
