A new avenue for the Cavaliers coaching position

Who will become the new coach of Riders, replacing JB Bickerstaff? The mystery remains because, even if we imagine James Borrego and Kenny Atkinson (or even Terry Stotts) as favorites for the position, ESPN tells us the Cavs have obtained permission to speak with Chris Quinn And Johnnie Bryantrespectively assistants in Miami and New York.

For Johnnie Bryant, this is not surprising since Tom Thibodeau's right arm with the Knicks was already announced in the franchise's sights in recent days. Close to Donovan Mitchell when he was an assistant at the Jazz, he could therefore find him at Cleveland.

For Chris Quinn, however, it is completely new since the native of Ohio, who also knows the Cavaliers very well having played there in 2012/13, was first on the Lakers' shelves. Considering, in particular, all his good work accomplished under the orders of Erik Spoelstra in Florida…

As Cavs leaders seek “ a new voice » to take a step forward, they could therefore soon turn to an inexperienced technician, but respected for his work as an assistant. It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to put the group of Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley or even Jarrett Allen back at the top of the pyramid, in the East.
