A hybrid group for Argentina at the pre-Olympic tournament

Absent from the 2023 World Cup, despite being the defending finalist and winner of the AmeriCup, theArgentina will still have an important deadline on the international scene this summer, because it will have to play the first phase of its Olympic qualifying tournament (OQT).

Present in the group of the Bahamas, Cuba and Panama, which she will challenge in mid-August, “the Albiceleste” will thus have to finish in the first two places of her group to access the second phase of this pre-Olympic tournament. To do this, it will rely on a quality group, where the hard core that enabled it to triumph in the last Americas Championship will –by and large– be present.

Indeed, coach Pablo Prigioni decided to call some well-known names from the NBA and/or international universe, such as Facundo Campazzo, Gabriel Deck, Carlos Delfino, Nicola Brussino, Patricio Garino or Luca Vildozaall of which passed more or less briefly through the United States.

The rest of this 16-man squad includes Lee Aaliya, Gonzalo Bressan, Francisco Caffaro, Tomas Chapero, Gonzalo Corbalan, Juan Fernandez, Maximo Fjellerup, Juan Ignacio Marcos, Lucio Redivo and Santiago Trouet.
