A hectic half-time for the Kings in Miami

At -13 (61-48) halftime in Miami, the Kings had to rely on the exploits of DeMar DeRozan to stay in the game. They then took advantage of the Heat's problems in the third quarter to completely revive themselves.

But while the Florida franchise celebrated Bam Adebayo's second Olympic title, there was excitement in the Sacramento locker room, with Domantas Sabonis confirming that things had “heated up”…

“We challenged our guys, and they challenged themselves” explains Mike Brown on the atmosphere in the locker room at half-time. “That’s what great teams do in these situations. Everyone demands accountability from everyone. I must not be the only one to make the guys face their responsibilities.”

“Everyone knows we have the same goal”

The coach appreciates that his players take responsibility for themselves and their teammates.

“Guys have to take the first step, say: 'It's my fault, I have to play better'. Other guys have to step up as well and say, 'You have to play better, you have to play better too.' But to be able to do that, you must already be evolving at your best level. And I'm not talking about scoring, but just in terms of effort and concentration. »

A general accountability session which allowed the Kings to turn the game around straight away.

“It was the whole group holding each other accountable, without anyone taking things personally because everyone knows we have the same goal” concludes Mike Brown. “And the goal is to try to win the match, and that's what we managed to do by returning to the field. No matter how. »
