A first year to forget for Dariq Whitehead

It was presented as a very risky bet last summer and, for the moment, it has not paid off, far from it. Selected by Brooklyn in 22nd position in the 2023 Draft, Dariq Whitehead is thus forced to draw a line on his season, due to a stress fracture in his tibia which forced him to play billiards.

One more operation to add to the medical file of this winger, only 19 years old, who had already undergone two foot operations before even arriving in the NBA. His last operation, which occurred in the spring of 2023, also prevented him from participating in the Summer League and then the training camp.

Enough to disrupt the debut among the big boys of Dariq Whitehead, announced as a potential Top 5 pick in the Draft when he was not accumulating physical problems in high school and university. This season, the former Duke resident has only played two matches with the Netsspending most of his time in the G-League, with Long Island: averaging 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists (at 43% shooting).
