A double hat for Andy Elisburg in Miami

Andy Elisburg July 20, 2023 will be remembered for a long time. Already because this summer marked ten years since he took office as GM of the Heat, which was already a great accomplishment for him, who was hired as an intern within of the communication department in 1988, when the franchise was created, before gradually climbing the hierarchy.

To mark the occasion, the Heat therefore offered him a promotion yesterday by formalizing his new title of executive vice-president of basketball operations. Having become an outstanding specialist in the management of the “salary cap” and the subtleties of the collective agreement, he will also keep his GM hat.

But its greatest gift will perhaps remain the tribute paid to it by its president, Pat Riley.

“Andy so deserves this promotion”, so he said via a statement released by the Heat. “Having worked with him for 28 years, he has brought about many transactions that have improved the franchise many times over the years, both on and off the field. Most importantly, his knowledge and Andy’s work ethic is second to none, he has been involved in everything we do at the Heat and we look forward to our continued success.”
