A common future for Drew Eubanks and the Suns

While Jusuf Nurkic is under contract until 2026, his replacement in the Suns racket should also remain in place. Drew Eubanks told this desire from Arizona Republic.

The entire franchise wants me back next year and I want to be a Phoenix Suns player next year », says the 27-year-old interior, who has an option worth $2.6 million for the 2024-2025 financial year.

I will make the best decision for my family and myself when the time comes », Continues the former Spurs and Blazers player who, if he were to decline this option, would become an “unprotected free agent”.

On paper, both parties have an interest in getting along. As of right now, the Suns already have the largest projected payroll for next season. The franchise does not have the means to offer more than this minimum contract to keep its replacement interior.

And considering his production this season – around 5 points and 4 rebounds at 60% success in 15 minutes – he should not arouse great enthusiasm among other franchises. Against the Wolves in the playoffs, he showed up in Games 2 and 3 (8 then 9 points) before remaining on the bench during the last match.

In addition to Drew Eubanks, whose signing caused the Suns to lose a second round of the 2024 Draft, Eric Gordon, Josh Okogie and Damion Lee all have an option of a comparable amount on their contract for next year.
