It's the busiest infirmary in the NBA! While the medical staff already has to take care of Steven Adams (out for the season), Brandon Clarke (out for 10 months) and Ja Morant (shoulder surgery this Thursday), the Grizzlies reveal that Marcus Smart will miss at least six weeks of competition. Roughly speaking, we will only see him again after the All-Star Game, since the All-Star Weekend takes place from February 16 to 18.
Initially, we thought that the former Celtics leader had just dislocated a finger in the great victory in Dallas, but examinations revealed a ruptured ligament in the ring finger of his right hand!
There is no longer a leader…
Already in bad shape after the announcement of the end of Ja Morant's season, Memphis therefore loses his replacement, and it should be remembered that the 3rd leader, Derrick Rose, is also in the infirmary to treat his hamstrings. The former MVP has only played two games since December 16, for just 21 minutes.
While the leaders have just parted ways with Bismack Biyombo, we would not be surprised if they recruit one or two playmakers in the coming hours.
