3×3 Basketball: French Teams Still Have Their Destiny in Their Hands

The number 2 seed in the men's 3×3 basketball tournament, Team USA has still not won a single match in the competition! Under the eyes of Kevin Durant, Jimmer Fredette's teammates lost on Thursday to Lithuania, then Latvia. The Americans are in last place after four games, and they can already save their honor this Friday against France (6:35 p.m.) and/or China (10:05 p.m.).

In a tournament dominated by Latvia (4v-0d), France is in 3rd place with 2 wins and 2 losses. Les Bleus need one more win to secure a place in the Top 6, synonymous with the second phase.

This Friday, they face Latvia at 2:05 p.m., then the United States. On Sunday, they will face China. For the United States as for France, three victories are necessary to ensure a place in the “play-in”.

The semi-finals and finals are scheduled for Monday, August 5

In the women's competition, France has only won one match, but it still has its destiny in its own hands, even if it is in last place, tied with the United States and Azerbaijan.

Everything could be decided at 1:00 p.m. with the opposition between Hortense Limouzin's Blues and the Americans. The second match of the day will be even more complicated since France will face Germany, leader of the competition with four wins in five matches. On Saturday, the Blues will complete the second phase against Australia.

Then, it's time for the “play-in” with the teams ranked from 3rd to 6th place. It will be Saturday for the women, and Sunday for the men. The winners of the two matches will face the teams ranked 1st and 2nd in the semi-finals on Monday. The final for 3rd place, then for the gold medal, also take place on Monday.
