38 points, 16 rebounds, 4 blocks and a sweep for A’ja Wilson!

Too strong. It’s difficult to describe A’ja Wilson’s performance otherwise during Game 2 of the first round between the Las Vegas Aces and the Chicago Sky, during the WNBA playoffs.

While the AP nevertheless preferred Breanna Stewart (by one vote) for the title of player of the year, while awaiting the results for the MVP trophy, the interior still impressed by crushing the interior sector of Chicago . His stats line ? 38 points at 15/23, 16 rebounds (including 6 offensive), 4 blocks and 3 interceptions!

Despite the double-takes, A’ja Wilson constantly found her way to the circle, especially since even when she missed, she managed to recover the offensive rebound…

“Our defense was at the expected level” reacted Becky Hammon, who coaches the Aces. “And A’ja Wilson was on another planet. She was spectacular on both ends of the pitch.”

The Double MVP (2020, 2022), reigning “Defensive Player of the Year”, thus limited the opponents who shot against her to 3/11 in the match. Enough to allow Las Vegas to achieve a quiet success (92-70), and therefore to “sweep” Chicago in this first round of the playoffs, which is played in the best of three games.

Las Vegas is the first team to qualify for the semi-finals, where the Aces will face the winner of the duel between the Dallas Wings and the Atlanta Dream. For the moment, it is the Texans who lead 1-0.
