2023 World Cup: Aleksej Pokusevski also forfeited for Serbia

Fate seems to be decidedly bent on the Serbia less than a month from the start of the World Cup 2023 (August 25 – September 10). Already deprived of their spearheads Nikola Jokic and Vasilije Micic, the “Eagles” will have to compose as a bonus without Aleksej Pokusevsky.

As reported by local media Sportski Zurnalthe strong winger of Thunder suffers from a broken hand, contracted in training in May, and will therefore not be recovered in time for the competition, since the specialist he consulted in Greece refuses to allow him to train before the end of August.

Consequently, the promising but fragile Aleksej Pokusevski will still have to wait before making his national debut and this leaves Bogdan Bogdanovic more than ever as Serbia’s leader at the World Cup in Asia…

As a reminder, the Serbs will be in pool B in Manila (Philippines) with Puerto Rico, China and South Sudan. If they finish in one of the first two places, they will then cross with the group of Italy in the second round, to hope to join the 1/4 finals of the event.
