Yadier Molina must take the reins of the Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals continued their descent into hell yesterday afternoon (Thursday) by losing 11-7 to the Los Angeles Angels, the latter thus completing the sweep. This 22e loss of the season gives them last place in the Central Division of the National League, ten games behind the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The current campaign is still not in the water, but we have to admit that time is running out and that a change of scenery is in order in Missouri. Oliver Marmol is clearly not the man for the job.

And this breath of fresh air could come from the side of Yadier Molina. Moreover, his absence on the ground is already felt. The lack of leadership is glaring.

AJ Pierzynski has never seen a player have as much ascendancy over an organization as Molina did during his MLB career.

This positive influence could certainly do the Cards a lot of good if the general staff made the decision to finally relieve Marmol of his duties and then appoint Molina to the same position.

It is true that Molina does not have much experience as skipper, with the exception of the last World Classic, where his club performed well. But his game intelligence is too high for him to fail when his name is called.

We already know, the former receiver wants to manage in the Majors. No one sees it anywhere but in Saint-Louis and the timing is ideal at the moment.

So what are the Cards waiting for? That it’s too late and the slope is too steep?
