Xander Bogaerts has received two offers from the Red Sox since the start of the offseason

The Red Sox may say they didn’t want to lose Xander Bogaerts, but in recent months they haven’t done anything to show that was the case.

After all, every time we heard about offers for him, it was always something insulting compared to the market.

Has that changed? Who knows.

But what we do know is that since the end of the World Series, Bogaerts has received two offers from the Sox. The first came when he couldn’t sign elsewhere and the second was after he was granted full autonomy.

But he is not the only one.

Rafael Devers, who is a year away from his autonomy, has also received a contract extension offer from Boston.

Obviously, you can feel the Red Sox have a growing sense of urgency — especially with the shortstop, of course — about the two stars.

After all, the club has money and the Mookie Betts situation must not become the norm in Boston. The club must keep its stars.

As we do not know exactly the value of the agreements, it is difficult to say if the guys are treated well during the negotiations.

But for the good of the franchise, it has to be.
