World Classic: Mike Trout would have liked to play with Bryce Harper

Bryce Harper will be sidelined from MLB play until at least the All-Star Game break with a right elbow injury. However, this does not prevent him from watching every little gesture of his national team at the World Baseball Classic, he who is American.

Moreover, after the victory of the United States against Venezuela on Saturday in the quarter-finals, he texted the hero of the encounter who also happens to be his teammate with the Philadelphia Phillies, Trea Turner, as well as Mike Trout.

In response to the message from the Phillies outfielder. Trout said he would have liked to play alongside Harper during the tournament.

Trout was like, ‘Hey, man. We miss you. We wish you were here.’

And Harper’s feelings are mutual.

I would really like to be present. On the other hand, I’m so excited for these guys. I want them to win. It’s so exciting for them. It’s so cool. I hope they win Sunday night, because I’m probably going to the championship game in Miami on Tuesday.

Harper was one of the first players to commit to playing for Team USA last summer, but had to pull out after undergoing Tommy John surgery in November. It would have been sweet to see him represent his country alongside one of the best players on the planet, if not the best, in this case Trout.

It may be for next time, if the two protagonists are still able to perform at this time.
