This afternoon in the NHL, the Pittsburgh Penguins will visit the Boston Bruins in the NHL Winter Classic.
The match will take place live from the famous Fenway Park. And when we look at images of the legendary Red Sox stadium, we see images that are interesting.
Obviously, the members of the Bruins have also decided to pay tribute to the Red Sox, as long as they are there. After all, a match like this is the perfect opportunity to pay homage to the host city’s past.
And that, goalkeeper Jeremy Swayman understood.
On his helmet, you can see a tribute to some of the greatest players in Boston Red Sox history. David Ortiz, Ted Williams and Curt Schilling are all on the Cerberus helmet.
And it’s downright beautiful. We are talking, in my eyes, of a tribute that is both sober and well done on the part of the Bruins goaltender.
But don’t think he’s the only one who came up with the idea. It’s easier for a goalkeeper, but he doesn’t have the exclusive right to good ideas.
David Pastrnak has meanwhile decided to pay homage to the Green Monster as well as to Big Papi on his skates as well as on his stick.
It is always very interesting to see images of the genre. For obvious reasons, I always have a soft spot for seeing hockey in a ballpark, considering those are my two favorite sports in life.
It should also be a good game.
