The first shovel of earth has not even been carried out for the construction of the new stadium which the name of the new Las Vegas concession is causing a reaction.
If several amateurs and experts see the A's (or the Aces) establishing themselves not very far from the Strip, others believe that we would have to start from scratch.
This is the case of pitcher Paul Sewald, originally from Las Vegas. In his eyes, who would want “a remaining franchise” that bears the name of a team that left its mark on the city of Oakland and not Las Vegas?
For Sewald, either the A's stay in Oakland or they change their name.
The first option seems a little difficult to imagine, since all the owners have, in recent weeks, approved the move of the A's to Nevada.
The stadium which will be built in Las Vegas will be ready in 2027 at the earliest. The situation is therefore very perilous for the Californian team until then. Will the owners tear the team down even further or will they be able to remain calm in decisions pending the relocation?
Remember that Las Vegas will become the fourth city for the franchise which was founded in 1901. At the time, the team played in Philadelphia. She remained there until 1954 before heading to Kansas City.
The Athletics will take up residence in Oakland in 1968.
Remember that there is one year left on the lease in Oakland. Subsequently, it is unclear where the club will play while awaiting the construction of the stadium in Vegas.
