Wander Franco reportedly played his last MLB game

Nothing is going well in the Wander Franco file.

After learning that a second young girl had filed a complaint against the Tampa Bay Rays star player for an inappropriate relationship with a minor last July, we learned that a Dominican Republic prosecutor, Angel Dario Tejeda Fabal , had entrusted the investigation to the National Agency for Boys, Girls, Adolescents and the Domestic and Gender Violence Unit in the province of Peravia.

And now a source within these institutions and who is very close to the file suggests that Franco would probably have played his last game in MLB and that we will not see him in major league baseball.

This is what the Dominican journalist Hector Gomez advances. According to new reports, the first results of the investigation do not bode well for the future.

The main interested party has denied the allegations but according to these reports from his native country, the 22-year-old’s career may be over.

Franco is currently on MLB’s restricted roster and is not accompanying his teammates. He was batting for a .281 average this season, with 17 homers, 58 RBIs and 30 stolen bases in 112 games, in addition to being very solid defensively at shortstop.

The Rays are in the middle of the race for the lead of the American League East, they who are currently two games behind the Baltimore Orioles.

It’s really not an ideal situation and it will certainly have an impact on the rest of their season, but that’s not what is most important. We must first think of the victims.
