Vladi Miguel Guerrero agrees with the Mets

The Guerrero family will expand into the wonderful world of MLB in the coming years.

Indeed, in the heart of the international signing period, the New York Mets signed a contract with a member of the downline, Vladi Miguel Guerrero.

Since November, rumors have suggested that the brother was in the process of reaching an agreement with representatives from Queens.

With this $117,000 signing, according to what we're hearing at the moment, the Mets now have another brother of one of MLB's current stars in their ranks.

Remember that Vladi Miguel is the brother of Vladimir Jr. and that the New Yorkers acquired Luisangel Acuna from the Texas Rangers last August, the brother of Ronald Jr. from the Atlanta Braves.

Coming back to young Guerrero, the latter is not among the 50 best international prospects, according to MLB Pipeline.

Still, the 17-year-old is expected to make an immediate impact in the Mets' minor ranks, especially because of his power, which isn't terribly surprising given his family lineage. The left-handed hitter also has an excellent batting eye and a short, sharp swing.

Rather, it is his defensive play that raises some question marks. Being able to play on the corners of the outfield and at the first cushion, it is probably at the number three position that he will land.

Like his big brother, Vladi Miguel worked hard to get in the physical shape necessary to survive what professional baseball demands.

It remains to be seen whether this will bear the expected results.
