That’s it Tyler Glasnow is here to stay with the Dodgers.
The California native has been rumored for a long time to go to California, more precisely to LA. And yesterday, we learned that an agreement was in place between the Rays and the Dodgers.
The only thing? Glasnow was expected to sign a contract extension so he wasn't just a one-year rental.
It was expected, and now it’s done.
According to what is circulating, the $25 million for 2024 will be the basis of a five-year contract. The Dodgers therefore add four years at $110 million, or $27.5 million per year.
There is also an option year in 2029 at $30 million if the team takes it… or at $20 million if the player activates it.
Note that there is no deferred money in the agreement. We are simply talking about an amount for the years of the contract, nothing more.
Shohei Ohtani doesn't want to.
The Rays are getting some young prospects and the Dodgers are going to get some established guys. It’s in line with both teams, we agree.
If Glasnow can stay healthy, he will greatly help his new team. And he will undoubtedly have lots of fun.
