Top-10 best relievers: Edwin Diaz in sixth place

After listing the ten best players at each position except relievers, it was the latter's turn to see their top 10 revealed by MLB Network, as part of its annual tradition.

Probably one of the most tossed-up positions by the network every season, this year is no different with half the roster made up of newcomers: Pete Fairbanks, Bryan Abreu, David Bednar, Chris Martin and Jose Alvarado.

Last year's No. 1 reliever, Edwin Diaz of the New York Mets, is now ranked sixth, considering a return to action this season after being sidelined all season. 2023.

The main interested party's objective is to return to the top of the list in 2024 and dislodge Devin Williams from the Milwaukee Brewers, a model of consistency in recent years.

Note that Houston Astros newcomer Josh Hader and Cleveland Guardians reliever Emmanuel Clase are not among the choices of the American network's experts. Difficult to explain…

Same story with the Toronto Blue Jays, while Jordan Romano did not see his name appear there. However, this makes more sense, since the Canadian experienced his share of problems and lacked consistency during the last campaign, raising his share of questions.

Experts draw on past player performance, a number of offensive and defensive metrics, advanced statistics and traditional data, as well as analysis from the network's research team.

The MLB Network roundup is now complete and seeing this latest ranking, maybe it was time to move on.
