It was this evening that the Baseball Hall of Fame announced whether or not it was welcoming new residents to its palace.
If we expected this to be the case, we are never sure until the names are officially called.
And ultimately, it won't be a small class.
Indeed, in addition to Adrian Beltre, who was expected to have no doubt about his induction, two other players are now immortal.
We are talking here about Joe Mauer and Todd Helton.
This is the largest class voted on by the Baseball Writers' Association of America since 2019, when Mariano Rivera, Edgar Martinez, Roy Halladay and Mike Mussina were elected.
