The Yankees must take advantage of their surplus in the field to conclude a transaction

Since the arrival of young Oswald Peraza with the New York Yankees, they have a surplus of infield players. Add to that the emergence of Anthony Volpe and you have the ingredients to conclude a transaction, and this, as quickly as possible.

Even though Volpe probably won’t start the season in the Bronx, despite the fact that he should do so at the expense of Isiah Kiner-Falefa, the young prodigy is knocking on the door and it’s only a matter of time before that he is starting his career on the biggest stage in the world of baseball.

Which brings us back to the infield. General manager Brian Cashman must therefore take advantage of this windfall and conclude a pact that will send one of his flock to other places.

To do so, Cashman will have to take the opportunity to pass on one of his infielders to a team that finds itself with a hole in one of these positions due to injury.

This is where the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Colorado Rockies become good potential dance partners, they who have experienced losses in the diamond, in this case Gavin Lux and Brandon Rodgers.

And when we talk about rumors, we always think of Gleyber Torres and Kiner-Falefa. If the first is the one who has the most value in those available, we exclude here Anthony Rizzo, DJ LeMahieu and the swarm of young people, the second could help out a formation with a need for position number six. Given that its value is not at its peak, however, successfully exchanging Kiner-Falefa for an honest pactol is a miracle.

All that to say that Cashman MUST move sooner rather than later. And the urgency to win could make the Dodgers the ideal fish.
