The Twins will have decisions to make about their shortstop position

The biggest saga of the offseason ended with the signing of Carlos Correa with the Minnesota Twins. The latter cannot be disappointed with the outcome of this hot issue.

However, that doesn’t necessarily go along with their situation at shortstop. Indeed, the organization’s two best prospects, Brooks Lee and Royce Lewis, both play in the number six position.

We can therefore wonder about the future of these two leadsas well as that of Correa.

At the moment, there is no stake since Correa will be the starter at shortstop in MLB, while Lee will be back in the minor leagues. Meanwhile, Lewis will start the season on the injured list, aiming for a mid-season return.

It’s when everyone is in town that things are likely to change. However, it is a beautiful problem and Correa does not worry about it.

“I look forward to investing heavily in them, like I did with Jeremy Peña in Houston. When these guys get to the big leagues, it helps. If they become superstars, it will make us better. We recruit based on talent, not positions, and their talent is good enough to play anywhere in the infield or outfield. It excites me. »

At this time, Lewis could play in center field, something he has already done. For his part, Correa can be moved to third base, as the New York Mets planned to do if they had been able to get their hands on the infielder. Or else Lee will be moved to the infield corner.

We will cross the bridge once we reach the river.
