The Soto-Judge duo will be poison for opposing pitchers

It is true that the New York Yankees still lack depth in the starting rotation at the moment.

There is no true number two pitcher in this corps and the risk of injury is always present. So there's still work to be done for general manager Brian Cashman this winter.

However, where the manager did not err was in filling the gaping hole in the outfield with the acquisition of Juan Soto from the San Diego Padres.

Which means the batting lineup won't be easy for opposing pitchers, especially when it comes time to face the duo of Soto and captain Aaron Judge.

That's what ace pitcher Gerrit Cole told Yes Network's Jack Curry, and he's not wrong.

They're going to get you because they're just going to have their chances of hurting you. That's the kind of guys they are. They're going to ruin a lot of guys' days.

Indeed, the addition of Soto in a formation that already contains the Judge will pose a major threat to the gunners who will have to face them.

Soto was one of the Bronx Bombers' main targets heading into the off-season, and his acquisition brings an offensive dimension that has been sorely lacking in the past, since the entire New York offense rested on Judge's shoulders. .

The Dominican is the perfect complement to share this responsibility with the captain of the Yankees. He should hit in the second offensive role just ahead of Judge.

It will then be difficult for pitchers not to face the two big hitters without suffering the consequences.

The latter will have to choose their poison and whoever chooses gets worse.
