The Phillies are one win away from making the World Series

After losing their last two games on the road, the Philadelphia Phillies were trying to win Game #5 of the Championship Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The DBacks did not want to go to Philly with the obligation to win two on the road. So Zac Gallen was on the mound.

The problem, besides the fact that Zack Wheeler was in great shape for the Phillies? Gallen was not at the top of his form. His balls lacked a bit of bite.

The Phillies scored twice in the first inning, which quickly put the DBacks in trouble to start the game.

And in the sixth, Gallen really got hit.

In the span of a few batters, Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper hit solo homers to make it 4-0 in favor of the visitors.

Alek Thomas may have hit a solo home run off Wheeler in the seventh, but the Phillies were in complete control of the situation.

Wheeler was really strong.

JT Realmuto then hit a two-run homer to put the Phillies up 6-1 in the game. Arizona did not recover.

The series is therefore to the advantage of the Phillies, who will meet their noisy supporters in Philadelphia on Monday evening on the sidelines of game #6.

For the first time in the series, the DBacks will face elimination. Merrill Kelly will face Aaron Nola at 17…. or at 8 p.m., if the Texas series ends this evening.

Note that this evening, at 8 p.m., the Rangers and Nathan Eovaldi will try to avoid elimination at the hands of Framber Valdez and the Astros.
