Before the start of the series between the Diamondbacks and the Dodgers, the president of the DBacks said that if the Dodgers won the series in Arizona, they would be able to celebrate in the stadium pool.
But ultimately, it will be impossible. For what? Because if LA wants to win this series, it will have to be done in five games… and the fifth game is in California.
The Diamondbacks won the first game after completely humiliating Clayton Kershaw and the club carried the same energy yesterday.
Bobby Miller didn’t get out of the first inning without giving up three runs. Christian Walker, Gabriel Moreno and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. drove in runs.
The difference between Game #1 and Game #2 is that the Diamondbacks didn’t destroy everything in their path afterwards.
In fact, Gurriel Jr. produced his second point of the game later, but the DBacks did not score again otherwise. However, it was enough to win 4-2.
Remember that Arizona has not yet played at home this year.
If the big hitters of the Dodgers were still quiet (only JD Martinez and Kiké Hernandez produced a run), at least the next generation held up. It’s already that.
For the Diamondbacks, Zac Gallen gave two runs in 5.1 innings. It’s not extraordinary, but it’s really not bad either.
But either way, all eyes are on Corbin Carroll, who has hit the trail 12 times in his first four playoff games. Just yesterday, he had a hit and three walks.
The Dodgers will therefore have to win their next three games – including the next two on the road – to stay alive.
Brandon Pfaadt and Lance Lynn will automatically be for Arizona and Los Angeles. Will the DBacks make it to the championship series for the first time since 2007 by going undefeated?
- Ryan Goins retired.
- Opposing teams like to play in Toronto.
