What can’t Shohei Ohtani do?
Last night, the Angels pitcher took to the mound to face the White Sox…and they got a proper baseball clinic.
I don’t know how much we start to take his performance for granted, but the pitcher still struck out 10 guys in 6.1 innings of work.
In a 4-2 win, he gave up just one point.
As a pitcher, he averages 3.02. This demonstrates, once again, the extent of his enormous talent.
Unfortunately for the Angels, he left the game because he had a broken fingernail that hurt him. I don’t know if this will affect his next departure.
Note that he remained in the game as the hitter of choice, however, and this ensured that he continued to dominate.
And this, to the delight of Angels fans.
For the first time in his career, he hit two home runs in a game where he also pitched. He notably hit his 28th homer of the season, which no one else has done yet.
He has 12 homers in June.
The .304 ERA and 1,040 OPS hit three hits and walked one in the game.
For real, who says better? After all, as a pitcher, he has 127 strikeouts and his opponents have a low average against him.
He’s clearly just making people who want to win the MVP in the LA better get up early.
Note also that the player has not closed the door to the circuit competition, but it will depend on his last start before the star break.
- Clayton Kershaw is still dominant.
- Kevin Gausman: 12 strikeouts in a loss to the Giants.
- Josh Donaldson hasn’t had a hit in a Yankees win since March.
- We are monitoring his health.
- Francisco Lindor loves his manager. Besides, Buck Showalter’s goal is to make the playoffs.
