Scott Boras says he gave Giants enough time to confirm Carlos Correa’s contract

The Yankees and Mets are currently on top of the world. The former named Aaron Judge as franchise captain and the latter signed Carlos Correa overnight.

For a week, we knew that the Giants had an agreement with Correa. There remained only the physical tests to approve and that is what blocked. How is it possible?

In fact, when a player signs a contract, he signs an agreement that is not exclusive. It’s just that nobody wants to look pretty heartless to look elsewhere while the physical tests take place.

But Scott Boras did it with the Mets because the Giants took too long. That’s what he told Ken Rosenthal.

According to him, after eight days when the Giants still had questions about his medical file, it was time to look elsewhere.

While the Giants canceled their press conference to introduce the shortstop, Boras chatted to several people, including Steve Cohen. He is increasingly loved by Mets fans.

The owner of the Mets, who blamed himself for not having signed Correa, therefore took the ball and, live from Hawaii, he negotiated with Scott “Vorace” Boras.

The wealthy businessman finally accepted more than he wanted, but at $315 million over 12 years, he is still happy since he has the last item he wanted.

Obviously, the question that comes up is: if the Giants were scared, will the Mets be scared too? Why sign it?

And clearly, the Mets can’t back down anymore…

In fact, it wasn’t really that bad (the Giants were still open to keeping him before Boras went elsewhere), but the Giants were more cautious. Too cautious, basically.

In fact, there were several aspects that the Giants didn’t like… but which dated from several years ago. And since Correa is healthy now, Boras has had enough.

The Correa clan decided that it was too much for him and it is in New York, in the end, that the infielder will continue his career. The Giants’ caution cost them a good player.

Even though Correa comes with an injury history, the club were ready to sign him after gaining access to his medical records during negotiations. Will the future be in their favor? Because there, they find themselves empty-handed.
