You know like me that Ronald Acuna Jr. is a very dynamic player. Since fully recovering from his injury, he is a different player.
And clearly, he is well on his way to accomplishing his goal of becoming a member of the 40/40, he who (with difficulty) carried out his 40th theft this season last night.
In effect, in doing so, he became the first player in history, before the all-star break, to have at least 20 homers, 40 stolen bases and 50 RBIs.
Who says better?
What you need to know is that in addition to having stolen a base, whoever is the favorite for the title of MVP in the National after three months got a hit and scored a run.
Result? His team won 4-2 against Cleveland.
Atlanta, which has won nine of its last ten games, has (by far) the best record in its division and the National. With 57 wins against 27 losses, it’s not even close.
In fact, the club plays for 30 games above .500. That’s okay as a result, isn’t it?
We know that the Braves play in a difficult division on paper (especially since Miami is having a good season), but that Philadelphia and New York are not up to the task.
Never mind, Acuna Jr. and the Braves take the opportunity to shop for another division title and an interesting run in the playoffs.
- Things are going well in Cincinnati.
- Zach Eflin didn’t want to leave Philly.
- Michael Brantley does not seem to be approaching a return to the game.
- Aaron Hicks booed on his return to the Bronx.
