Ronald Acuna Jr. gets married and reaches the 30/60 club on the same day

The least we can say is that Ronald Acuna Jr. had a big day yesterday (Thursday).

Indeed, before leading his team to an 8-7 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the evening, Acuna Jr. had first married his fiancée Maria Laborde during a small ceremony in the mountains. about 45 minutes from the team hotel earlier in the afternoon.

But that’s not all.

The Atlanta Braves star outfielder hit a mark we’ve never seen before, becoming the first player in MLB history with at least 30 home runs and 60 stolen bases, all while hitting a big slam that broke the tie 1-1 in the second set.

And the worst part of all this is that there is still a month of activities left…

Prior to yesterday’s game, the most long balls hit in a season with 60 stolen bases was 28, achieved by Rickey Henderson in 1986. And the most stolen bases with at least 30 home runs was 52 , owned by Barry Bonds in 1990.

It is therefore an extraordinary achievement. And to do so in what could turn out to be a taste of the National League Championship Series and moreover against MVP rival Mookie Betts is even more spectacular.

Moreover, the latter did not leave the whole floor to Acuna Jr., cannonading the 250e home run of his career, a long three-pointer that cut the deficit from six runs to three.

Then, the outfielder did it again a little later in the duel, adding a second homer which was 8-6 at the time.

Mookie Betts hit 50 hits in August.

It was too little too late for the Dodgers, but if that’s what we can expect to see again in October in a best-of-seven series, it’ll be candy.

The National League MVP race will also be very interesting to follow in the coming weeks.

The best baseball of the season is officially launched.
