Red Sox: Craig Breslow would be the successful candidate to lead the club’s baseball operations

In recent weeks, there has been a lot of talk about the race to lead the baseball operations of the Boston Red Sox.

We wonder which formula will be retained (president, CEO, etc.). We wonder how many hires will take place. We wonder who will be chosen.

But above all, we wonder who will not refuse not the post. Because yes, many candidates refused to go through an interview or even go for an interview.

But there is one name that comes up often: Craig Breslow. The former left-handed reliever, who notably played (and won the World Series) in Boston, is a prominent name.

After Breslow retired from playing five years ago, Theo Epstein sought him out in Chicago, where he rose through the ranks. He therefore became a prominent candidate for positions elsewhere.

And there, everything indicates that it was he who was offered the position of boss baseball operations. It’s unclear if he accepted, but the chances are good.

In Chicago, Breslow was put in charge of development. And there are good pitchers who are growing, which is a good thing for his candidacy. This must make the Sox happy.

We don’t know if he will have a CEO or if he will be the CEO. If he accepts the position, he should be #1 on the Sox organizational chart, to justify his departure as the Cubs GM’s right-hand man.

So let’s see what he does in Boston if he takes the job.

He is compared, because of his career, to Chris Young, the boss of the Texas Rangers. Could Breslow also do as well as Young?
