In 2021, Adolis Garcia was simply impressive. Inexperienced, the Rangers rookie was still able to make his mark and earn a spot in the All-Star Game.
Of course, at 28 in 2021, we know that Garcia isn’t here to dominate major league baseball as a legend in the sport. That said, he can still be successful in 2022, right?
And that’s what the Rangers are betting on for the future.
Reportedly, the Rangers intend to trust him in 2022 and if he has to patrol center field, he will.

Sure, sophomore bad luck could hit him, but the Rangers will have a lot more protection for him in the roster (starting with Corey Seager and Marcus Semien) and their outfield isn’t great.
That’s two good reasons to go with the whooping cough of 2021.
Obviously, you have to understand that no one has spent more than Texas since the start of the offseason and that the club does not necessarily intend to stop there. It is to be expected that senior management will seek to improve the potato field a bit.
Could Seiya Suzuki or Michael Conforto be targets in Texas? Possibly, yes.
But in fact, because he can play in the center, Garcia gives himself more chances on the others. It will help him.
In 2021, he hit 31 long balls and drove in 90 runs. His 194 strikeouts are a problem, though, but he fits the mold of the player of recent years that MLB is obviously looking for.
