Beyond his passion for baseball, he pursues the dream of young Catherine “Kat” Demes, who lost her battle with cancer a few years ago, by raising funds for the benefit of the foundation named after her. honor and to which Perry and his family are particularly attached. Through weekly activities, the well-known philanthropist raises funds through raffles that delight many nostalgic Expos. Autographed items (sticks, balls, caps, photos) are honored and the money collected goes directly to the foundation.
On April 22, in Laval, the president of the foundation will organize another Gala ExposFest which will once again bring together a line-up of sports personalities well known to Quebecers, including Vladimir Guerrero, André Dawson, Moises Alou, Ellis Valentine and Chris Chelios.
With the holding of this gala, the foundation will most likely surpass the mark of one million dollars raised to date. Had it not been for the pandemic, the magic number would have been reached long before, because COVID-19 deprived the organizers of two events, in 2020 and 2021.

Already, more than half of the tickets for the Gala have found takers, after only one day of availability.
