Pat Murphy expected to get Brewers manager job

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Pat Murphy should get the job as manager of the Milwaukee Brewers.

He was the favorite from the start.

Murphy is the coach of Counsell’s bench since the 2016 season, or (approximately) since his debut as a manager in major baseball. He is a brave soldier.

He knows the organization like the back of his hand.

There were people who thought that if Murphy didn’t get the job in Milwaukee, he could have followed Counsell to continue as his assistant, but in Chicago.

But now, obviously, that is no longer the case. The two men will still see each other often as divisional rivals in the National headquarters.

Murphy was Counsell’s manager in college before serving as his right-hand man in Milwaukee. He also finished 2015 as manager of the Padres after the firing of Bud Black.

Ironically, right now, only the Padres don’t have a manager.

This therefore means that Don Mattingly did not get the position of manager of the Brewers. And since his name is not circulating in San Diego, we can believe that he will stay in Toronto.

Logically, he will form the expected trio with DeMarlo Hale and John Schneider at the top of the pyramid to help position players get to the next level.
