The 2022 season of the Oakland A’s was one to forget for the Californian formation, which was the only one to lose more than 100 games in the American League. One would then think that they cannot go any lower.
But think again, it will be even worse in 2023. The days when Oakland was respectable with names like Marcus Semien, Matt Olson and Sean Murphy as position players and Chris Bassitt, Frankie Montas and Sean Manaea on the mound are over since everything this core has left the ship.
Athletics supporters, however, could fall back on the future. But no… The 2023 season and the following ones will be infinitely sad.
Sad to the point that the franchise was voted by 29 MLB executives as the most unknown in major league baseball. Unknown in the sense that we don’t know ANYBODY on this team.
When asked by Jin Bowden of The Athletic, an executive from an American League West organization, Oakland, said he probably couldn’t name six A’s players.
I’m in their division, and I’m not sure I can do it.
One of the names that we can name is certainly that of Ramon Laureano, but we can expect that he will be under other skies by the end of the next campaign, as a leader of a formation of the National League.
They swapped them all. They still have that outfielder, Laureano, don’t they? I can name it. And it will be exchanged before the deadline.
All this to say that we are wholeheartedly with the fans of the A’s, who have not left the hostel.
Does their future lie in Vegas?
