Message to the Phillies: Stop planning a pool party and win games

When the Diamondbacks want to celebrate an accomplishment at home, the club jumps into the stadium pool and celebrates.

And it gives beautiful images.

The pool has become a hoped-for celebration for teams playing in Arizona. The Dodgers particularly hoped to be able to do it on the sidelines of the division series.

The president of the DBacks even said he would give them the OK to do it.

Not only did their hopes of winning the series in Arizona quickly fade, but the Dodgers didn’t even win a single playoff game.

And it was the Arizona players who celebrated.

There, what we learn is that the Philadelphia Phillies players were planning to try to win the championship series in Arizona to celebrate in the pool as well.

It’s now impossible to do so since the series will assuredly be won in Philadelphia, but the Diamondbacks took notes following yesterday’s win.

Arizona is a club that has been carrying the weight of underdogs for months and the guys want to silence their critics. They prey on people who don’t believe in them.

That’s why the DBacks manager didn’t like seeing the Phillies’ #2 catcher say that Philly was planning to celebrate in the pool when the score was 2-0 in the series.

Arizona has won its last two games and now the series becomes 2-of-3. The Phillies will have to play tonight in Arizona, by the way.

Let’s hope for the Phillies that they face the Astros in the World Series (if Philly goes there) since the team would have home field advantage, unlike a duel in Dallas… that would help them quite a bit.

All this to say that you should not sell the bear’s skin before killing it. Right now, the Phillies are overconfident.

The club has the attack to win. It’s up to her to do it by playing the right way.
