Max Scherzer is a questionable case for the rest of the World Series

The Texas Rangers scored an important victory last night (Monday) in the World Series, taking a 2-1 lead and putting pressure on the Arizona Diamondbacks.

This capital gain, however, left its mark, the starter of the Texan team Max Scherzer having left the match in the fourth inning due to back pain.

After the game, the right-hander moved cautiously around the locker room, occasionally grimacing, suggesting his back spasms were still present.

More in-depth testing will be done today (Tuesday), but it would be surprising to see the veteran return in 2023, who was supposed to start a possible game number seven.

The Rangers will therefore have a difficult decision to make as to whether they will replace him in their training or whether Jon Gray will be the right man, he who did an excellent job in yesterday’s duel.

Scherzer said he should know within 48 hours if he can return to the show. The Rangers may not have the luxury of waiting that long, however.

However, the 39-year-old will not be the only one to undergo examinations during the day. Indeed, outfielder Adolis Garcia suffered a magnetic resonance after the latter also left the match with apparent back pain.

Even if the one who knows historic playoffs was absent from the clubhouse after the game, his manager Bruce Bochy remains optimistic that the star will return to the World Series.

These two potential absences could drastically change the outcome of the Series. Let’s hope that the two teams can align all the elements until the end.
