After winning a World Series title with the Washington Nationals in 2019, Texas Rangers pitcher Max Scherzer is a champion again.
And seeing his reaction after his team’s spectacular victory, he who almost destroyed the shoulder of his general manager Chris Young because he was so happy, we can say that he is grateful to the latter for giving him the chance to win another championship and enjoy the moment.
This is because the right-hander has gone through the whole range of emotions in recent months.
Indeed, after a difficult time with the New York Mets, Scherzer was acquired to replace Jacob deGrom, whose season ended prematurely after an elbow injury that required Tommy John surgery.
However, not everything has been rosy since Scherzer arrived in Texas in return for the services of Luisangel Acuna, one of the top prospects in the Rangers system.
Indeed, the veteran has experienced ups and downs with the Texan team. Scherzer made eight regular season starts with the Rangers and was 4-2 before suffering a shoulder injury.
The Gunner, however, worked hard to return to the postseason, but had to leave Game 3 of the World Series due to back pain after pitching only three innings. This forced the Rangers to remove him from the lineup.
Despite all these pitfalls, the end result of this whole adventure is more than satisfactory and the main party fully enjoys the moment.
The latter will try to repeat the feat next year with the same team, since he has activated the option that was in his contract for 2024.
